During 33rd Indian Scientific Expedition to Antarctica (austral summer 201314), a 101.4 m long ice core retrieved from the central DML region (location: 71? 30′ 36′′ S and 10? 09′ 36′′; elevation: 1470 m). To understand the regional climate variability, surface air temperature (SAT) of DML region and sea ice variability in the proximal oceanic sectors, we have used the oxygen isotopic record of IND33 ice for the last two centuries. We provide the long-term sea-ice record derived from the oxygen isotopic record of the IND33 ice core for the past two centuries at the annual resolution. Ice core derived sea ice record mainly influenced by the wind-driven sea-ice dynamics related to the positive shifting of Southern Annular Mode (SAM) and increasing ENSO events.
